Apply Now for the 2019 NAFA Scholarship

The Norwin Alumni & Friends Association (NAFA) will award a $500.00 scholarship to a graduating Norwin High School student who has been accepted to a college or trade school, and has at least one parent who is a Norwin graduate. The successful scholarship applicant will be one who shows active school and community service during their high school years.

The NSDCF and NAFA: A Perfect Marriage

Norwin School District Community Foundation (NSDCF) was formed as a 501©3 charitable non-profit in 2007. Initially, the primary function of NSDCF was to facilitate scholarships. In subsequent years, the Foundation began to provide Educator Innovation Grants to encourage the enrichment and enhancement of learning opportunities for K-12 student in Norwin Schools.

Why is a high school alumni association needed?

Why, all of a sudden, is there this need to create an alumni association for Norwin? Perhaps, the real question should be, why has it taken so long? High school alumni groups have been around for many years. Although there may be relatively few in western Pennsylvania, the eastern part of the state has had many high school alumni groups for years.

An Afternoon with River City Brass

Last Sunday, hundreds of members of the Norwin community gathered together to enjoy an afternoon concert, The Magic of Christmas, with River City Brass to support the NSDCF. Arriving concertgoers waiting for the doors to open at the Norwin High School auditorium were treated to the sounds of Christmas and the holidays courtesy of the Norwin Middle School orchestra accompanied by Mr.

NSDCF Donates to Local Norwin Veterans Organizations

Recently, the Norwin School District Community Foundation offered shirts to the Norwin community meant to celebrate and honor the sacrifices and service of our nation’s veterans with a unique Norwin design. At each of the Veteran’s Day assemblies held throughout the Norwin School District this year, veterans on stage were greeted with the sight of hundreds of Norwin students of all ages wearing shirts proudly declaring UKnighted We Stand.

The Magic Of Christmas Holiday Concert On Sunday, December 16, at 3pm, the NSDCF will welcome the River City Brass, joined by the Norwin High School Chamber Singers alongside the Bel Canto Women’s Choir and Show Choir, for the Magic of Christmas holiday concert at the Norwin High School auditorium.

Veterans Day Shirts Now Available: Show your Support

Help show your support for Norwin veterans this Veterans Day Norwin schools are proud to host annual Veterans Day assemblies to recognize the service of Norwin veterans and bring them together with students. This year, the NSDCF is offering these shirts, white in both short and long sleeve, to help show our support.

Thank you for a successful Knight of Distinguished Alumni

On the evening of May 24, two-hundred and fourteen guests came together to celebrate the lifetime accomplishments of ten Distinguished Norwin Alumni, one Distinguished Friend of Norwin, and our graduating NAFA Scholarship recipient. Those honored included William Caruthers, Esq. (1973), Hon. Mark Critz (1980), Dr. Constance DeMore (1991), Dr. Robin Dillon (1973), Dr.
